ISO, NSO, RSA, RSU, Strike Price, & FMV Definitions

ISO (incentive stock option) and NSO (non-qualified stock option) are option types with different tax treatment. RSA (restricted stock award) is stock granted up front subject to vesting. An RSU (restricted stock unit) is a promise to deliver shares later. The strike price is what an option holder pays to exercise, set at or above the FMV (fair market value), which a 409A valuation establishes for private companies.
