Set up a data room and control document access

Create a secure data room and manage who can view or download your documents.

A data room is a secure, organized space for sharing your legal and financial documents — with investors during diligence, for example — while you keep control over who sees what. This guide shows how to set one up and manage access.

Steps:

  1.  Open Data Rooms and create a new room.

  2. Add documents from your file cabinet or upload new ones.

  3. Organize into folders so reviewers can navigate quickly.

  4. Invite viewers by email and set each person's access level (view vs. download).

  5. Review the access list before sharing externally, and remove access when diligence ends.

Tip: redact sensitive personal or financial data from any document before adding it to a shared room.
